The story of Siwash Lake Wilderness Resort - a world-renowned luxury dude ranch and remote wilderness lodge in the heartland of Cariboo country, British Columbia, Canada - a place of high adventure for exploring within the wild.
The Siwash Story
In British Columbia's Cariboo, amid wide open skies, rolling grasslands and forests bejeweled with lakes, Siwash is hewn from rugged wilderness and built with the indomitable spirit of modern day pioneers: a place of high adventure borne out of passion...
Our History & Culture
As 4th generation ranchers, adventurers and outdoor enthusiasts, Siwash founders were inspired by their ancestors: First Nation people, European emigrants, cowboys and mountaineers. Siwash bears homage to these hardy folk and their deep connection to the land...
2017 Forest Fire
The summer of 2017 went on record as BC's worst ever for wildfires—sparked by lightening strikes or humans, and then whipped up by excessive winds—rapidly burning out-of-control and consuming pristine forests, wildlife habitat, ranches and homes...
We offer you the finest British Columbia luxury ranch accommodations for an all-inclusive, high-end ranch holiday in the wilds of western Canada. Our eco-friendly wilderness resort overlooks shimmering Siwash Lake.
'Cariboo' Barn Loft Suite
The Cariboo Loft Suite is located a short walk from the Ranch House, in the lovingly renovated upper level of our hand-hewn log barn. This luxury loft is spacious enough to comfortably sleep a family of five and has a balcony overlooking the horse corrals.
Ranch House Suites
In our authentic Siwash Lake Ranch House we have two spacious guest accommodations with beautiful lake and meadow views for you to choose from. Each suite is uniquely different and decorated in the fashion of country charm.
Siwash Star Camp
New for 2019... All guests have the option of 'glamping' atop the Ridge at Siwash Star Camp™ where pioneer-style canvas wall tents, with extended platforms and 'roll-out' king beds dressed in fine linens, offer spectacular gazing at our starry night skies.
At Siwash Lake Wilderness Resort, the food and wine experience while dining off-grid in the wilderness will satisfy the most discerning foodie. Food is grown on site or foraged from nearby meadows and post-wildfire snag forest.
Our Food Philosophy
Food that is grown on site, or foraged from nearby meadows and the post-wildfire snag forest, is at the heart of our menus. We strive to include something harvested from the wilds on your plate at every meal. Nature is in the essence of your Siwash dining experience.
Your experience with food and wine will go well beyond what you would expect when dining 'off-grid' in the wilderness. Siwash food is sophisticated, yet simple and nourishing. Using the best ingredients, we prepare all meals fresh from scratch in the Ranch House kitchen.
Rediscover the lost art of dinner conversation while at Siwash, with family-style dining at the Ranch House table and private placements in the great outdoors. 'Alfresco' settings revolve around four distinct themes of the Classical Elements: Earth, Water, Air & Fire.
Gallop your horse, paddle a kayak or soar by helicopter. Travel by land, water and air. Explore a unique, post wildfire habitat—a striking, black snag forest—while roaming wild and free amid British Columbia's rugged heartland.

Off-the-beaten-path in western Canada lays the last frontier of British Columbia, where BC’s Cariboo perches high on an interior plateau of rolling Cascadian landscape—rich with rivers, lakes, grasslands and bound by snowy peaks.
On far side of the lake, the Ridge climbs steeply out of the water with a 500 ft. elevation gain. The high ground on top provides for panoramic displays of stunning vistas. Enjoy sunrises over the wilds beyond, sunsets above the Marble Mountains, and incredible starlit night skies.
The land here forms natural contours that define distinct areas of the resort. On one side is wide open terrain. Wild hay meadows roll gently to water's edge, adorned with stands of white-barked, trembling Aspen trees. In this pastoral setting nestles the Ranch at Siwash Lake.
The Ecology Centre
In the wake of wildfire, this Ecotourism Social Enterprise operates in a highly sensitive biome. Our society advocates for the Siwash environs and for future generations by facilitating conservation, research, land regeneration, and outdoor experiential education.
