Location
Siwash Lake Ranch is located in the central interior, Cariboo region, of British Columbia. The ranch is nestled at 3,500 feet (1200 meters) above sea level, high on the Bonaparte Plateau at the foot of the Cariboo Mountains, between the larger Coastal and Rocky Mountain ranges. We are approximately 275 miles (460 kilometers) — a scenic 5½ hour drive — north-east from Vancouver. It’s only a 2½ hours drive to the ranch from the closest regional airport at Kamloops. This is quintessential cowboy country; the terrain is gentle and rolling, with woods of Aspen poplar, Douglas fir and Ponderosa pine, interspersed with secluded backcountry lakes and natural meadows. Our 80,000 acres of guiding territory encompasses a spectacular river canyon and a high mountain bluff for panoramic views of the entire range.

Begin by flying in to the beautiful city of Vancouver. Coastal highlights include whale watching and grizzly bears, with surfing and beachcombing near Tofino on Vancouver Island. Then stop over at Whistler, a world-famous mountain resort where the 2010 Winter Olympics will be held. Next, drive over the Duffy Lake Pass to Lillooet for some gold panning and river rafting on the mighty Fraser River. From there, head up BC’s historic Gold Rush Trail to Siwash Lake. Get re-acquainted with nature, have your fill of spectacular western adventure and pampering at the ranch, and then continue on to the Rockies — Banff, Jasper and Lake Louise — for the ultimate tour of British Columbia, the “Best Place on Earth”.
