Entertainment & Sightseeing
Our entertainment schedule revolves around a full one week's stay at the ranch. The following activities are offered in the afternoons or in the evenings after dinner and you're welcome to just watch or participate in any of them:
Wrangler's Round-Up ~ After a few days in the saddle, this is the perfect opportunity to ask questions and fine-tune your newly discovered harmony with horses
- Texas Hold'em Poker ~ family-friendly version
- Fly-tying ~ for the keen fishermen and women
- Country Crafts ~ make a ranch keepsake
- Campfire ~ star gazing and marshmallow roasting, and if we're lucky, the Northern Lights!
- Outdoor Games ~ Anyone for badminton? Or how about ranch-style bocce ball (a rustic version of lawn bowling, played in the home meadow - great fun for players of all ages) There's also plenty of grassy field space for family-style baseball and soccer.
- Gold Panning ~ your host and resident gold mining enthusiast will share his passion for finding gold with you. He'll teach you the intricacies of gold panning while entertaining you with interesting stories about this age-old pursuit for pay dirt.
Sightseeing
![]() Crater Lake One of Nature's many wonders is right in our backyard, an easy 10-15 minute drive from the ranch. The breath-taking scenery of Crater Lake and its accompanying waterfalls is well worth the visit and is a wonderful excursion. |
![]() Local Rodeo Once a month throughout the warm season, there's a local rodeo held at one of the nearby small towns. It's a chance to watch some great horsemanship, and take in some regional colour and genuine cowboy culture. |

Road trips
For road trip excursions, the ranch is located along B.C.'s historic Gold Rush Trail, so you can head off on a day-long gold panning excursion, starting at Lillooet, which is Mile "0" on the trail, and continue northward along the picturesque banks of the mighty Fraser River, back up to 70 Mile House and the ranch. On route, you can try another adrenalin pumping, famous BC sport—whitewater rafting! There's also a five-hour circle route that takes in the western city of Kamloops and all of its attractions, as well as some incredible, super natural B.C. scenery along the way.
