Siwash is surrounded by Nature. The ranch property and eighty thousand acres of uninhabited Crown land surrounding it, are prime wilderness habitat—rich and vibrant—providing the aspiring naturalist with an enticing blend of soft adventure. 
Whether you're riding the trails on horseback or on safari with an angling guide, while walking the woods with our resident naturalist or relaxing on the lodge's sundeck, you'll encounter many different ecosystems. Learn about biodiversity in wetlands, riparian and aquatic zones, grasslands and forests. Observe the beauty and intricacies of our native flora, while gleaning interesting facts about each plant, many of which are either medicinal or edible.
Discover the fascinating habits and characteristics of wildlife that make their home here: moose, deer, black bear, cougar, coyote, wolf, beaver, porcupine, pine martin—the list is endless—plus an abundance of exotic insects and aquatic life. Learn how to identify scat, tracks and other sign, with the opportunity to spot animals in their natural habitat.
And enjoy the wild songs and grace of our varied birdlife. The ranch has completed a conservation project on the lake in partnership with Duck's Unlimited Canada, which has enhanced the already thriving eco-system. Avid bird watchers can observe many species including Sandhill cranes, water fowl, eagles and other prey birds, woodpeckers, hummingbirds, chickadees, nuthatches, and grosbeaks, to name a few, as well as many precious song birds.
